He seemed like he was hobbling around a little bit at the time-outs. Maybe got dinged up during the game.
skrabukes
Always good to get the first win. Plenty of things to clean up for tomorrow. Free throws and TO's were an issue, along with some of the inside missed. Hardnett too many quick fouls like last year unfortunately. Rebounding was good for the most part, Williams definitely had a nice game. It's a bit concerning not seeing any "new" guys (Skogman, Chanse - yes I know he's hurt for now). Hopefully Mballa is good to go tomorrow and they can start off 2-0.
UBlearns
Initial thoughts - Williams looked great. Thought they looked more cohesive defensively than last year. Team needs to hit free throws. Solid minutes from both Bertram and Fagan. A little concerned about the general lack of production from the bench - we know that the main 4 (Graves, Williams, Mballa, Segu) can carry a load, but they'll need more bench production as the season goes on. TML1000
For the 1st game in a weird year, it was pretty solid. Other than the 1st 5 minutes of the 2nd half, UB was clearly the better team. Williams seems like he has/is ready to take the next step and be the 2nd go to guy along with Graves. Will need to see more of course, but it looks like this team will compete in the top 4 of the MAC, but not sure if they have enough to win it.
DocCas86
Agree with others - Williams (stat line - I didn't see the game) had a great game. Graves had a good game as well. How about Bertram with nearly a double-double. 8 pts / 12 rebounds / 4 blocks. If he can provide solid minutes like that all year - I will take it. If we get a bit more from bench would of course be better - maybe once we get Chanse back, but ESPN announcer said 1 month - so second game of MAC season. As others have said - good to start with 'W'. Let's keep it going tomorrow against Army.
Ivantheturrible
How long is Chanse expected to be out? I never even heard anything about his wrist injury.
Ubbulls84
First game of the season so hard to be too judgemental. Williams clearly stepped up his game was really impressive and might have taken that next step to be star for this team. We must be better at FT shooting, graves really needs to be better there, he should be shooting over 80%. It’s going to end up costing us one of these close games against better competition. Bench was not impressive, someone needs to step it up there. Anyone know the story with Mballa? Seems like he was out down the stretch of game. During the broadcast on ESPN radio - they said about 1 month. I don't know if others have better intelligence.
Tee4three
looking at the box score we are going to need more minutes from the bench. Having your starters play 30+ doesn't usually end well when your main way into march madness will be to win 3 straight days With that said if there was ever a season where you could get away with a short bench/playing your starters big minutes its this one, since games will be spread apart and it being a shorter season

Whitesell on the radio pregame said it wasn’t serious or long term but said it was a wrist fracture
squire17
This is going to be a long poor season...middle of the MAC.
