No, Devin Ceaser committed to ODU lol

I think Adams, Smith and Chapman are kinda stuck unless they want to sit out (not 100% on Chapman, he may not need to sit again, the current rules befuddle me). A little surprised if he wouldn't have wanted Jack, Villanova has bigs, but maybe Jack didn't like the prospect of his contribution level under the new coach. Credit him for waiting to see how it played out at least.

I’ll say this…Coach Burke can fill a roster lol

She also got a transfer from D2 Edinboro who averaged 19 pts, 7 boards and 5 assists. Could be a nice player, but she's 5'3 so we will see how that translates. Pulling players from higher conferences is pretty good. Mashaire was from Cincinnati and I was impressed with her play overall.

Run and gun and rain 3s.

Could work well, hopefully we can have at least 8 contributors this season. Playing with 5 (some games 4 1/2) is not a formula for success. This guard is 5'9". The women's game is different.

Baylor - 8 players 6'0" or taller, tallest 6'3" (30 pts all season), 5 players 5'5" - 5'11" (5 guards, 5 forward, 3 guard/forward)

LSU - 5 players 6'0" or taller, tallest 6'4", 7 players 5'6" - 5'11" (6 Forwards, 6 guards)

UConn - 9 players 6'0" or taller, tallest 6'5", 4 players 5'9" - 5'11" (6 forwards, 5 guards, 1 guard/forward, 1 center)

South Carolina - 10 players 6'0" or taller, tallest 6'7", 4 players 5'8" - 5'9" (7 guards, 6 forwards, 1 center)

Syracuse - 5 players 6'0" or taller, tallest 6'3", 8 players 5'5"-5'9" (9 guards, 4 forwards)

Bowling Green - 4 players 6'0" or taller, tallest 6'2", 11 players 5'5"-5'11" (8 guards, 6 forwards, 1 guard/forward)

Toledo - 3 players 6'0" or taller, tallest 6'5", 9 players 5'6"-5'11" (6 guards, 1 forward, 4 guard/forward, 1 center)

BUFFALO - 5 players 6'0" or taller, tallest 6'2 (UB has 4 6'2" players) 7 players 5'5"-5'11" (7 guards, 3 forwards, 2 guard/forward)

Slightly smaller than the top tier teams, but we line up good size compared to our MAC competitors. Everyone is a guard, forward or guard/forward. Very few pure centers in WBB currently

6’2 Ida Ojala from Sweden that has been massive for @CapilanoBlues transfers to @UBwomenshoops  Congrats on your commitment Ida! We are very happy to be a part of your journey!

Capilano University in Vancouver, BC and played for Team Sweden. 11.8 pts/12.1 reb per game, 1.6 assist. Keep her off the 3-pt line (10%) and FT could use some help (60%). Good size and international experience. Could be a solid add!

WBB officially signed 4 players today, two of them being 6'2" so some size coming in. They all look like they could be solid contributors and some international experience too. Should be exciting!

https://ubbulls.com/news/2023/4/13/womens-basketball-womens-basketball-announces-additions-to-2023-24-roster.aspx

Actually, it looks like only one new announcement.  Rana Elhusseini. Others were announced previously.

Interesting that UB has already updated their website with the 2023-2024 roster:

https://ubbulls.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster

It is showing Baron, Mashaire, Johnson, Ogden, and Watson returning.

And Burton, Craig, Elhusseini, and Ojala transferring in.

No mention of their previous High School commits of:

Madison Heiss, 5-10 SG, Highland Park HS (Dallas, TX) [committed 8/3/2022]
Paige Kohler, 5-7 PG, Olmsted Falls HS (OH) [committed 6/20/2022]
Paula López, Alicante, Spain [committed 7/3/2022]
Ella Take, 6-0 G/W, Capital Courts Academy (Ottawa, ON) / hometown: Kingston, ON [committed 8/3/2022]
Jakayla Thompson, 5-8 CG, duPont Manual HS (Louisville, KY) [committed 10/17/2022]
Ella Weaver, 6-0 SG/W, William Monroe HS (Stanardsville, VA) [committed 8/23/2022]
Timberlynn Yeast, 5-9 W, Mercer County HS (Harrodsburg, KY) [committed 8/22/2022]

This would make for a total of 16 which is too many.

The big question, will they have a full roster by the end of the season?

Two things missing last season was depth (6 player rotation) and size when Salmons left. Looks like we should be getting both

Ronni Nwora no longer listed.

She seemed like an odd situation, no real definition of what was going on there, just personal reasons.

A little surprised to see Baron still there. Also Kiara Johnson is still on the team, did she get a medical 6th season?

Ellis appears to be gone also.

Wyatt Foust is also missing, did he leave too?

Goodness, what a turnover!

Any over/under betting on coaches/players leaving the team or going MIA by the end of the season?

Some might feel sorry for the coach for not having enough players on the bench at the end of the season, but it would come down to her ultimately on picking a roster and keeping it. Will she have the same problem again this year?

The player part I’m not too worried about, she was in a tough spot, grabbed what she could and by the end the team was pretty solid, albeit thin on total roster. 100% turnover of your staff in year 1 is bizarre. The first one out the door is now HS girls coach in Kentucky, not sure about the other Asia Dozier seems to be on Twitter a bunch and seems like she’s trying to find a home. Foust doesn’t have anything on his Twitter referencing Buffalo anymore and he is not on the website anymore so I’m assuming he’s gone. Just bizarre and doesn’t seem like any of them are moving up in level so far.
