Juco Player Ranks

Recommended Posts

While we may not be bringing in 3/4 star freshmen, the Juco route is proving to be prosperous.

Interesting to also see some of the other players who were either on our roster or verbal commits ranked too (Miller-Moore, James Reese and Javion Hamlet).

Javion Hamlet at #19 and James Reese at #31. Good on them. I hope they both get signed to a good school and get to compete.

Also 3 players we still have offers out on:

10. Tajzmel Sherman

24. Quenton Jackson

32. AJ Bramah

True,

But I think I heard Sherman told us no, and so did Bramah.

UB offered two players in the last 24 hours with only two open scholarship leads me to believe that all three on this list will not be attending. I've been told that they can generally tell after a few weeks if a kid will be taking an offer or not, especially this time of year.

Miller-More is 94th? Safe to same I'm glad we scored three players (possibly 5) all higher ranked. Interested how that works out.

Double oof

Oh well. Gone is the entire recruiting class. Bye. At this point the key is to not lose players currently on the roster. Whoever the coach will be will have his own plan. And there are over 500 transfers out there to pluck from. And still unsigned high schoolers. But not losing players currently on the team is key.

I always question this stuff and I don't know that I've ever received an answer, so I'll see if anyone can clarify here that may know. We officially signed Allen, Rojas and Cadwell. They have "asked for release" from their agreement. Hawkins and Williams were just commitments, so they weren't "binding", I get that part. A few things come to mind:

-Are we required to release them? Additionally, are we required to release them immediately, or are we able to say, "Hey, give us a few days, let the new coach be named and let them speak with you. If you're still unhappy, we'll grant your request"?

-What happens if we don't release them?

The whole thing just seems odd. If we release them and they are able to sign and play elsewhere (like Navigato), then what is the purpose of the whole signing thing? It seems stupid if that is the case, as evidently the agreements aren't really binding in any way.

They are binding, they signed LOI. UB is NOT required to let them go.

However, why would another player want to commit to a program that doesn't want the best for the kids after two main coaches leave?

I can say on the record that UB has NOT released Allen from his commitment and I dont expect them to let these two go.

I think they at least require them to talk with the new coach before allowing them to leave.

Well, that is good to hear. Like I said, if they are not desiring to be here once the new staff is in place, and they want to go, then I could live with the releases. But until then, they are unable to talk with other teams, at least directly I would assume. As they say, "there is hope".

If UB or any other school just decided that they weren't going to release someone, what would the repercussions be? Obviously it would be a bad look and/or media storm, but what would the player do? Just be like Laveon Bell and sit out the year, multiple years, career?

Whitesell on WGR this morning said he's recruiting Thursday through Sunday with a focus on JUCO specifically. Let's see if we can track him and piece together what he's doing.

Probably not on the list because he signed a Letter of Intent and is therefore not available unless he is given a release.

There’s a ton of high upside players here. Rebuild with JUCO this year since it’s late in recruiting then go all in on freshmen in the next recruiting class?
