Back to Back Rams for the Women

A big final three non-conference games all against quality opposition...UB is currently 46th in the NET rankings. URI comes in at 53, so a quality win on Sunday.

VCU is 57th, Princeton is all the way up to 20 after beating FGCU on the road and Bucknell is 81.

Winning all three would of course be a massive boost to a chance at an at-large, as that would give UB five top 100 wins, with Cuse currently at 84th. Winning 2 of 3 would likely still keep UB firmly in the conversation heading into MAC play.

Elsewhere in the MAC, Kent St is 73rd, Ohio is 100th, Toledo 126, Ball St 142, NIU 152, BG 157, Miami 182, WMU 190 and EMU, CMU and Akron all over 200.

By my rough estimates, I would only put the WCC and Summit ahead of the MAC in terms of mid-major conferences this season, so UB and/or Kent can definitely play themselves into an at-large position.

"The legend of Georgia Woolley continues to grow!", haha, that was a good call

Very good win tonight and exciting right down to the end. Should not of come down to that if we had made our foul shots at the end.Missed foul shots by several players and some very shaky in bounds plays. Woolley played another good game on both ends of the floor. She came up with a great defensive play along with a great outlet pass to Fair. Overall the defensive effort was very good. Still concerned about the foul troubles of Adeyeye and the poor play of Christie. Nia Jordan looked overwhelmed down low and I believe McEvans hurt her ankle and did not play down the stretch. Still a great gut check win after blowing that lead in the last minute. Go Bulls!!!

I think Coach Jack was thinking about the shot that Reid made against CMU at MAC tourney but both shots were really a great result. Some familiar faces on the VCU bench. Former head coach of Canisius Terry Zeh now an assistant and former UB forward Keona Walters now on VCU. The head coach at VCU was an assistant under Zeh for four years. Walters was not suited up for the game and not really sure why she left UB as her last year here she was a fairly productive player and a good downlow presence. It is amazing how the coaching fraternity goes around and around. Did notice the VCU team went back off the court for the national anthem and got booed when they came back on. As a veteran lost all respect for the entire team and not sure what the reasoning is as the players were joking and laughing when they came back on the court. It also did look like Coach Jack was not happy about what VCU did.

VCU was leading South Florida for much of the game yesterday but faded late...would've been a nice boost for UB.

Anyway, UB jumped one spot in the NET, up to 43. Princeton dropped back all the way to 40 after a home loss to #135 Seton Hall. Tomorrow's game is still a big one. Bucknell has also dropped back to 103 despite not playing since the 6th.

Toledo is now the second highest MAC team at 75, while Ohio has risen to 88 and Kent has fallen back to 97, likely due to playing D2 Clarion this weekend. Still, four in the top 100 is a very good thing for the MAC.

Princeton is good defensively but have given up 70+ in their last two to Fordham and Seton Hall...UB is better than both those teams. Will be tough but if they continue to share the basketball and create turnovers I like UB's chances tomorrow.

Plus with Wooley gaining confidence and becoming a threat, this team has 5 legitimate scoring options. Still need some better production in the paint and less fouling from our bigs, but this team has a very high upside.
