BrooklynBull
The bracket: The first game will be a tough one for the Hofstra AD. Their AD is a former Student Association President at UB. For what it is worth, he was at Iona before he went to Hofstra.

BrooklynBull
According to sources who were not authorized to speak on the record the women's conference schedule has been set and will be released shortly. There is no confirmation on this part, but I would assume the men's schedule should be announced within a similar time frame.

I would say of the 11 on d1 conference docket: four are corroborated (FDU, South Alabama, St. Bonaventure, SBC Away game) three Gulf Coast - I believe this is corroborated although my source is not official. three more (JMU, WKU and Richmond) are not official but seem fairly likely. one (UC Irvine) - I do not have anything other than d1 conference docket. 1. FDU 11/6 - Home 2. South Alabama 11/11 home https://ubbulls.com/news/2023/6/22/mens-basketball-bulls-host-south-alabama-in-first-matchup-of-the-2023-mac-sbc-challenge.aspx 3-5. games vs TBD at Gulf Coast Showcase https://watchstadium.com/college-basketball-2023-24-events-schedule-05-15-2023/ 6. UC Irvine TBD Away I do not have corroboration on this only have mention on d1 conference docket. 11. SBC TBD Away 12. At Butler 12/5 https://buffalonews.com/sports/college/ub-mens-basketball-to-play-at-butler-in-december-per-contract/article_31e5138e-27fd-11ee-8f44-57534e19bda8.html 13 Home vs Niagara 12/29 https://buffalonews.com/sports/college/ub-niagara-mens-basketball-to-meet-for-first-time-since-december-2019/article_4eed3592-3928-11ee-8814-632e6d45e5c6.html Glad to see NU back on the schedule. In theory there are now 13 non conference games. However I do not have corroboration for either the UCI or WKU games. D1 docket does have a date for WKU so it seems likely that game happens. I wouldn't be surprised if UCI is dropped and UB picks up a game closer to home (like with Canisius.)

They did it with canisius last year after thanksgiving. It should be a display to NU, big band, loud fans, and everything else.

I feel like that the St. Bonaventure game has been scheduled with that in mind. Looking at the current schedule, potentially the NU game could have been scheduled either around 11/14, or potentially swap the NU game with the 12/5 away game with Butler. Either of these may have been better from a UB perspective, but you have to make choices. For example, if you say no to Butler on 12/5, do you end up playing a local D2 team on 12/29, so you can play Niagara on 12/5? Maybe the team can make this a priority in their scheduling for future years.

We are also playing some guy named James Madison and another named Fairleigh Dickinson. Not sure why we are playing games against individuals, but I will leave that up to the AD. Maybe it is cheaper that way?
DocCas86
I had a feeling UC Irvine was not going to happen (we are only playing individuals with a proper first name not just initials!) . RW is ranked near bottom of D2. Should give the team a little lift before the Gulf Coast Showcase.
UB77
Any school that was started in a tavern, must be feared. "Roberts Wesleyan University was originally established as Chili Seminary by Benjamin Titus Roberts in 1866. Roberts was a social activist who opposed slavery and oppression of the poor, and was a supporter of women's right to vote. He began the school to train young people to become servant leaders with high moral character. Having first used a local tavern as a school, in 1869 a three story brick building was erected. There were 56 students total that year."
UBinMD
A nice schedule overall I think. Lots of Home Games when students should be around. I am hoping to get down to the Richmond game. I am out of town, of course, when they play JMU. Should be a good test.

If Reggie is even half the great person we think he is. He would be proud of one of his former players, then coaches moving up in the world and advancing his career. If Cage is half the person we hope he is, there were a few conversations with Reggie about this as well.
