You give UCLA a window they going to take it. Credit to Akron just didn’t have enough offensive firepower and Ali Ali needed a big second half which he didn’t have. In addition, he has spent 18 seasons as an assistant coach, including the last three at UCLA. Lewis played at IU under head coach Bob Knight from 1996-2000, served as a graduate assistant for Knight for two seasons at Texas Tech. He posted 247 recruiting ranks of 66, 27, 26, 54 with 0 tournament appearances. Prior to Steele Xavier made the tournament 12/13 seasons then went 0/4 with Steele. Xavier went 4-10 down the stretch which got Steele fired then his assistant stepped up and led them on a 5 game win streak to the NIT title. That doesn't seem like a step up in any way, for someone who has received solid minutes at Akron. I'll just never understand this nonsense. Maybe it's closer to home...I don't know much about him.
